12 Russians, Puppets Killed, Over 26 Wounded in 4 Days in Chechnya

12 Russian soldiers and their puppets were killed in the Chechen capital of Jokhar and in southern Chechnya on November 20-24, 2006, according to a report for the Kavkaz Center news agency from the Chechen Military Command. According to tallies of some mobile and sabotage groups operating in Jokhar and in the districts of Vedeno, Shatoi and Nozhai Yurt, 8 Russian invaders and 4 proxies were killed and at least 26 others were wounded in ambushes, small arms attacks, landmine explosions and pinpoint strikes.

 

2 Russian soldiers from a unit of Russian paramilitary police forced were killed in the Maskhadov (former Staropromyslovsky) district of Jokhar during the implementation of a combat task on the night of November 20-21, 2006, Their arms and ammunition were confiscated.

 

Another Russian soldier was killed in Jokhar in the night of November 22-23, 2006. At least 6 Russians and proxies were also wounded in small arms attacks.

 

4 Russian soldiers were killed at least 3 others were wounded in a small arms attack in the area of the village Yakhoi Mokhck on November 24, 2006. After the attack, one Mujahid was wounded due to careless handling of weapons while returning to the base, the report says.

 

While conducting intelligence in the area of the village Selmentauzen, Mujahideen engaged in a firefight with Russian special forces troops. A short firefight left 1 Russian soldier dead and 4 others wounded. Two Mujahideen were also injured in the clash.

 

Mujahideen ambushed and attacked puppet troops in the Shatoi district on November 23, 2006. Four  puppets were killed and approximately 15 others were wounded in a battle. One Mujahid also martyred and 2 other fighters were slightly injured in the firefight, the report says.
