In the town of Shali, one of the Mujahideen groups exchanged fire with a group of Russian soldiers who had no other alternative but to withdraw and to be fortified inside one of the houses, because they know that their being there will protect them from the Mujahideen fire, and they stayed there until aircrafts arrived with other military units to save them from definite death!
