Russian opposition media outlets responded to the news of the martyrdom of a well-known Islamic preacher, Sheikh Sayeed al Buryati (AKA Sayeed Buryatsky). An opposition news agency, Forum.msk, writes:
"Previously, the preaches of Sayeed al-Buryati were promoted by everyday risks to which this young theologian exposed himself. After his death from the hands of Russian infidels and their henchmen, they received a real aura of sanctity. They will be copied on hundred thousands of computers, they will be heard by thousands of his followers, and eventually the martyred Sayeed al-Buryati will be many times more efficient then a living one. And he became invulnerable for persecutions.
Russian secret services made a new martyr for the Caucasus, and thanks to modern technology, his word will be preserved, which would be impossible in earlier times.
What would happen to Rome if Jesus, crucified by invaders, continued to preach with his voice that we read in the Gospels, in every shop and on each player? Would Rome survived for another couple of hundred years in its eastern provinces if it were possible in the times of Jesus?".
The news about the martyrdom of Sheikh Sayeed al-Buryati (inshaAllah) is widely commented in the Russian sector of the web, involving all sorts of people. Comments about the martyrdom usually do not depend on religious beliefs and ethnic origins of the authors.
Many Russian nationalists praise the well-known Islamic preacher for his steadfastness and courage.
"Eternal memory for him, he is an example for everybody. Soon, we will too start to slaughter Mendel's (Medvedev's) pigs. Freedom for Russia! Freedom for the Caucasus!" writes a Russian nationalist in the guestbook of the Hunafa website.
Another user from Ukraine writes:
"Sheikh! You have become the history of Jihad, you became one of the best and most famous representative of it. By your sincere Word and Deed you have shown us, the weak ones, the way of a real Warrior who is not afraid of anything, except Allah, the Almighty and Merciful..."
Another user, from Kazakhstan, says:
"We, the Muslims of Kazakhstan, send greetings to the Mujahideen of the Caucasus. Many brothers in Kazakhstan were thrown to prisons for distributing the preaches of brother Sayeed .... God's willing, we will also join the Jihad and this is not just mere words ..."
