Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Siyasa, known for its support of the regime of Saleh, has quoted local sources from the southern province Lahj, west of the Emirate of Abyan, according to which, a few hundred Mujahideen of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (aka AQAP or Ansar al-Shariah) liberated the town of al-Habilain, says Yemen Post.
Mujahideen have declared Sharia rule in al-Habilain and expressed their willingness to go on and storm the southern port city of Aden, writes Yemen Post.
Secretary General of the separatist group Southern Movement, Nasser Al-Khabji, denied the fact that al-Habilain had been taken by Mujahideen, however, he offered no evidence to support his statement.
The Kuwaiti newspaper wrote that the AQAP Mujahideen, headed by Emir Adel Hardba, gave puppet officers and soldiers, stationed in al-Habilain, 24 hours to ensure that they have enough time to leave the city and surrender their weapons. There are no other details of this report.
Lahj province borders the largest port city of Yemen, the southern capital of the country, Aden. The leader of the puppet security forces acknowledged that the structure of Saleh regime in Aden, became vulnerable to the influence of Mujahideen AQAP and that the fighters are conducting operations in the city without any restrictions or resistance.
"Al-Qaeda operates in front of everyone and security officials are sit in their homes", said Maj. Gen. Ghazi Ahmad Ali.
Experts say that the regime of Saleh does not use US model of fighting the terrorism in their struggle with the Mujahideen. Regime pretends that the problem of terrorism does not exist in the Emirate of Abyan, neither in Radda nor in Aden. Ali himself survived an attempt on his life at the beginning of last week, when he returned to his work.
Meanwhile, the sources of BikyaMasr, close to the Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, said that after the recent liberation of Radda (province of al-Baida), the following goal of AQAP was listed: the capital Sana'a, which is located 170 km north from the region.
In one of its recent statements AQAP Command announced that one of the main objectives of the Mujahideen in the near future is to establish Sharia rule in the whole territory of Yemen.
Meanwhile, Mujahideen began to all-out clearance of all non-Islamic elements in liberated city of Radda. For instance, recently Mujahideen killed 3 and wounded several fasiqs, or corrupted, during the attack on the home of the well-known urban sorcerer.
The detail of heavily armed Mujahideen under the command of Emir of Radda Tariq Al-Dhahab arrived to arrest a sorcerer Hassan Alawbali. They came to the house of Alawbali in armoured vehicles, captures from the regime of Saleh.
Armed supporters of al-sorcerer Alawbali resisted, but were killed on the spot. It is reported that during the operation 2 Mujahideen were martyred (Insha'Allah).
Meanwhile on Monday, according to Reuters, large military formations of the regime were sent to Radda.
Last week, the Mujahideen of AQAP offered Saleh's regime in return for the withdrawal of its troops from the town to release Muslim prisoners from the jails and set up Sharia law in Radda, but the regime refused:
"The government will not agree to the demand of the terrorists of releasing their jailed operatives", said a senior official of the regime.
On Monday, the information came in that government tanks and armoured vehicles are approaching the town.
"When we were leaving Radda, I saw 15 tanks and 20 armoured vehicles, moving to a military base on the west side of town", said one eyewitness Abdullah.
Another eyewitness reported that the soldiers stationed at a checkpoint, outside the town, told him about the purpose of arriving reinforcements: they must get ready to the imminent attack on the town.
According to sources at the local tribes, the Mujahideen of al-Qaeda and residents are preparing for a major battle.
"Fighters are getting armed with machine guns, mortars, rocket-propelled grenade launchers. Shop owners have moved their goods to stores outside the town, the situation could explode at any moment", said one resident.
