According to sources from Afghanistan, one of the biggest successes of Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan became a martyr attack, carried out on 8 August in the city of Asadabad of the Province of Kunar (see map). During the operation at least 15 aggressors were eliminated and dozens more were injured.

As the US army command admitted a few days later, it is the first time when the Mujahideen of the Taliban eliminated a number of such high-ranking officers of the US Army.

Thus, as a result of martyr attack, which took place during the visit of US officers in the headquarters of the Karzai's governor of Kunar, one of the main commanders of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division, Sergeant Major Kevin J. Griffin (see detailed information on this link) was eliminated on the spot.

 

The commander of the 4th Brigade of the US Army, Colonel James J. Mingus, according to one of the sources, died in a military hospital due to severe injuries.

In addition, during the resonant martyrdom operation, carried out by two Martyrs (Insha'Allah), were eliminated two high-ranking US Army majors:

Sergeant Major Kevin J. Griffin was the senior officer of the 4th Brigade of Combat Detachment of the 4th Infantry Division, which is stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado, and, according to the Army Times, the first commander at the rank of sergeant-major, eliminated as a result of combat incident in Afghanistan.

35-year-old Major Thomas J. Kennedy, coordinator of the brigade fire support, and 38-year-old Major of 13th Air Support Operations Squadron US Air Force, Walter D. Gray, were eliminated during their 2nd trip to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

 

Hillary Clinton's approximate, US State Department official of Arab origin and the representative of US Agency for International Development (USAID) Rajai Abd al-Fattah, was also eliminated in the attack.
