On Wednesday morning, freedom fighters from the Ahfad Al Rasoul Brigade bombed and destroyed Assad's central security command in the Abu Remanih area in central Damascus in response to murders perpetrated by the Alawite security forces nationwide.
The liberation forces planted eight explosive canisters in the vicinity of the Assad's regime military's central security command, timed to explode during their daily meeting.
The FSA had intelligence suggesting some 150 high-ranking Alawite officers would be attending the meeting. The freedom fighters do not know how many enemy casualties have occurred because the Alawite security forces have secured the area.
"We will continue to carry out similar operations in the capital until we reach Assadin the presidential palace," Abu al-Noor, a spokesperson for the Ahfad Al Rasoul Brigade, said.
Several hours after the blast, freedom fighters clashed with Alawite forces near the Assad's government headquarters and the Iranian embassy in the Mezze area of Damascus.
